React to payments to make everyone feel good

You asked and we listened. You can now react when a friend pays you instantly on Beem It. Let your friends know that you appreciate receiving a payment in a fun way, using up to eight different emojis. 

To help you understand ‘why’ we decided to add reactions, we interviewed resident Beem It designer extraordinaire Dan S:

What do you do at Beem It?

Dan S: I am in charge of translating ideas, sketches, and wireframes mixing them with brand elements and human centred principles into engaging final designs, micro-interactions and prototypes that will be ready for our amazing team of developers to build in iOS and Android.

What occasions do you like to use Beem It? 

Dan: During weekends, when I go out with my mates and we need to easily split the bills. It has saved us time and it is so easy to later follow up our IOUs.  

What was the thinking in including the ability to ‘react’ to payments on Beem It?

Dan: We want to be as friendly and social as possible with all of our payment solutions. Reactions come as a way for users to express how they feel when they get a payment from their mates. We chose emojis because they have proven to be a great way to represent emotions and we selected only 8 since we want to keep it simple.

What is the emoji that you will use the most  and why?

Dan: Let me think, we do have great options, I will use the majority quite frequently to be honest. But if I have to choose one it will probably be the 'party face emoji'… why? because it represents joy and celebration.
