Iso-liberation- The Beemer way

There is no denying our worlds have been turned upside-down recently. We’re navigating change and trialling new ways of working and socialising. Keeping safe and healthy can be tricky at the best of times and it's even more confusing (but comfy) in confinement.

Here at Beem It, we are here to support you as best as possible. We will continue to provide you with social distancing approved contactless payment solutions to allow you to instantly transfer and split household bills. Whilst also introducing new features like gifting animations, to allow you to stay connected and show your appreciation even when you can’t be there with your (not so) nearest and dearest.

What are Beemers up to?

This week, we thought we would share what you and other Beemers have been up to over the past month whilst dealing with social distancing.

It's clear you are a pretty smart group adapting well to new social norms whilst still maintaining contact with your community groups. We’ve seen it through critical support of your local food and drinks industry (hey we all still have to eat) as well as messages showing you’re staying connected with your nearest and dearest by using our app to pay, split, share and delight instantly.

Let’s take a closer look.

Uber eats payments have increased since March, which is not a surprise. The best thing to do when you’ve been binge-watching Tiger King all evening is to ensure you’re fed with an Uber eats delivery from one of your local food spots.

McDonalds and KFC remain consistent payments, despite the increase in home-delivered meals. Saturday is the top day for both the food giants, proving it’s hard to give up the greasy burgers, but easy to pay your flatmate back for the new iso-burger run.

We know how much you normally love your coffee fix but at present, you are being sensible and spending less time than usual with your caffeinated friends. However even at the lowest point during this period, there were still 120 payments a day, so there must be a few of you Beemers still braving outside to get your daily coffee fix for your house.

More households are working together in sharing the weekly shop. We’ve seen an increase in payment descriptions of “groceries” since March 15th and baking looks like it has tripled since this time last year. We think there will be some delicious creations out there!

Fuel related payments have dropped considerably in the past month. Highlighting that everyone is staying indoors and isolating well which has been great for not only reducing the spread of COVID-19 but improving the air pollution too! Great work Beemers.

Finally, it looks like the toilet paper craziness is starting to die down, which is a relief (pun intended).

Well done Beemers whilst it’s tough you are adapting well to the new “normal” ways of living. You’re eating well, staying home but still connecting whether it's through social media or through seamless instant cash moments on Beem It.  It’s important to know that we are all in this together and we will come out of COVID stronger and maybe a little rounder!

If you have any ideas or suggestions on how we can improve connecting with each other, whether it’s an app innovation or something we could do at work we would love to hear from you? We're working harder than ever to ensure you continue to have the best Beem It experience possible. Please share any other ideas that you would like us to incorporate into our next blog post here support@beemit.com.au
