Your Request Line

It’s exciting times for Australia as we look to come out of our isolation bubbles and move toward normalcy. As we begin to reduce the most extreme aspects of social distancing, it’s a great time to get into some good habits with our money as well.

 I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to going to the movies, to a Swannies game or hitting a few bars up. However, I’m going to make sure that my friends aren’t going to benefit from my generosity when it comes to paying for tickets, food or drinks. Luckily the Beem It team have been tirelessly working on improvements throughout the lockdown to ensure that making instant and safe cashless payments is still very easy. 

One such improvement has been the introduction of stickers when requesting a payment. Requesting money from friends can be tough at the best of times, even if their ‘I’ll pay you back’ coffee balance has meant you’ve been living off 2-minute noodles. So, to increase your chances, you can now use stickers when requesting a payment.

Beemers don’t use requests enough in my opinion. The latest Beem It figures show that request payments are approximately 5% of transactions- which is on par with pre-COVID figures. I totally understand though and It makes sense when you think about how uncomfortable it can be when asking for money. 

Beem It takes away much of those awkward conversations when asking for money. It’s as easy as a few buttons and you’ve sent a request.

Think about those occasions when you wake up the next day and remember that you paid for dinner, but forgot to ask for a friend to pay you back (It’s basically me every Sunday morning). With Beem It, there’s no need to call up (or text) to give your friend your account details and pressure them for money. Instead with Beem It, send the request with the description, a cool little sticker to make it a bit more fun, like it was the night before. Then once your friend accepts the request the funds are back to you almost instantly.

So, as you’re starting to go back to social occasions with your friends, take the initiative and get your friends signed up to Beem It. Then, when you pay for your friend’s tickets, drinks or dinner, don’t forget to request the money you’re owed.
