The gift of gift insights

Some people are maxing gifters, some aren’t. It can be very tough to give a gift that people love to get, but luckily now it’s a lot easier. You can use Beem It to send anyone a gift card that is quick, easy, thoughtful, memorable and something we think people will love to get.

But then there’s the problem of which card to send! Well, if you’re still unsure and want a bit more knowledge on what other users have been gifting, you have come to the right place. We understand a bit of peer pressure is what’s needed and the best form of peer pressure (besides friends nagging about receiving a gift card) is showing you interesting statistics on what other Beemers have been sending each other. Get ready for a bit of FOMO.

When it comes to value, the average gift card is approximately $90, with ebay raking in some gift cards of  $250 (one of the top values). I had a look at what you can get on ebay for $250 and went down a bit of a collectibles rabbit hole. You can purchase things like an ‘Antique Telephone’, a ‘Star Wars Dagobah Playset’, a ‘125 years Coca Cola collector set’, a ‘Superman comic (issue 113)’ and so much more. It’s a place that once could easily get lost and purchase something a lot of people would ask you about, or that some would prefer not to ask you about.

(Some of the ebay items I found for $250 in the collectables section)

When it comes to the highest average value, Webjet has the highest average value at $300. Our guess is that’s a perfect gift for a small flight in Australia, otherwise we might see higher values with Webjet if international travel was more back on the cards (we’ll see this time next year).

The lowest average value is the Boost Juice Store card at $12.36. This is a great use of the Beem It gift card. Sending someone a small gift, that’s meaningful. It wouldn’t surprise me if the gift is sent when the receiver is near the sender. It could be a bunch of friends hanging out together, going to get a juice and someone (someone smart and into the latest and greatest in tech) that just decided to make the juice experience that little bit more special.

Unsurprisingly December 25th was the biggest day in which users have sent gift cards. All those last minute Christmas gifts (and no judgements on all the people that left their Christmas shopping till the day of). There was also a spike on the 18th and 19th of January, which is Martin Luther King Day on the 18th and National Popcorn day on the 19th. I guess there were a few people sending Uber Eats voucher to their friends that were binge watching movies.
